Ink to Sound Waves 2025 Competition Results


The winners of the competition will hear their stories and poems on air on Rutland & Stamford Sound.
A dedicated show on Wednesday 8th April from 7pm will feature the winning pieces chosen from over 100 entries from local children and adults as well as interviews with the attendees from the award ceremony.
Ink to Sound Waves was run by Rutland & Stamford Sound in collaboration and sponsored by Ink & Ember, an independent bookshop and café in Stamford, to inspire people of all ages to get writing.
The award ceremony took place at the shop for the writers to receive their prizes and network with the judges whilst celebrating their success.
The competition was split across four categories with a winner and runner up chosen from each:
Adult Short Story Winner Joe Bedford, Runner-up Chris Bond
Adult Poem Winner Elyssia Baugh, Runner-up Adam Bates
Primary School Short Story Winner Moyo O, Runner-up Darcey W
Secondary School Short Story Winner Poppy W, Runner-up Ellie-Mae
Prizes given by Ink & Ember included prints of their work, book vouchers and drinks and cake from the café.
