Volunteers Wanted!

Would you like to share the buzz from getting more involved in your local community? 

Rutland and Stamford Sound is looking for enthusiastic, community minded volunteers to join our team and help us in our mission to provide Great Music and promote Local Life. All roles can be performed from home.

 

We have vacancies for several positions:

  • Volunteer Co-ordinator - we are looking for an individual who can help us bring new volunteers on board and assist with keeping existing volunteers motivated and involved in the station’s activities. The role requires good organisation and communication skills.
  • Programme Presenter - if you have a passion for radio and would like to join our team of volunteer presenters, please make a demo (mp3, SoundCloud or YouTube, maximum length two minutes) and send us a link. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone interested in presenting a Saturday afternoon sports show.
  • Website and Social Media Support - we are looking for a volunteer to share the workload of keeping our website content up to date. Also, we are specifically looking for a volunteer who can produce eye-catching graphics for use on both the website and on social media posts, to promote local events and activities.
  • Outdoor Events Team we are regularly out and about attending events across the Rutland and Stamford area. Would you like to join the team of volunteers who set-up at events and talk to passers-by about their local community radio station?
  • Fundraising and Grant Assistant - Rutland and Stamford Sound relies on funding from a range of sources. We are seeking an individual who can help us to research new sources of funding and to assist with organising new fundraising projects.

By volunteering, you will be developing professional skills, be they social interaction, presentations, event organisation or website development. All these skills look very impressive on CVs; in addition you will be gaining valuable experience, which also enhances any CV.

From the Scarecrow Festival in Uffington, to the Christmas Markets across the region, there is also plenty of opportunity for fun.
