Christians across Rutland and Stamford are celebrating the Easter story today
and encouraging locals to come along and join them. Reverend Tom Bowring, the minister of Oakham Baptist Church, says whatever the denomination, the message is similar.
‘We've got a great link as churches throughout Oakham and one of the things we like to do is come together at those central times of the year to celebrate what joins us together and being Easter, that is the death of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on a cross who died to take away our sins so we can live in eternal life that is to come. And so we love to celebrate together on this Good Friday and also on Sunday as well, Resurrection Sunday. We will be in our individual churches raising prayers, song and hallelujahs together as a sign of our unity in Christ’.
