A man from Surrey has returned to the Aqua Park at Rutland Water to thank those who saved his life.
Dave Francis suffered a heart attack whilst at the leisure facility. Staff performed CPR on him until the air ambulance arrived. Four members of the team were presented with trophies and certificates from the Royal Life Saving Society yesterday. Trustee Rachel Healy says they've been working with the Aqua Park for a number of years.
’Yes, we've got special awards in place for open water places like this, which is really good, and obviously also pool lifeguards as well. So it's nice to have the partnership with the Aqua Park that enables us to deliver the training to such a high standard and enabled the team to act the way they did on the day in question’.
