Our Presenters

  • Rob Persani

Rob has been the voice of local radio at breakfast time in Rutland and Stamford for over 20 years and is often seen around the area at fetes, festivals and events.

  • Angela Wilson

Angela is the Business Development Officer for Rutland and Stamford Sound and also presents the Wednesday evening show 7-10pm.

Born in Rutland, Angela returned from studying in London during lockdown and works as a professional ballet dancer and performer across the country and Europe. She also adores teaching and storytelling, which has led her to journalism which she is now studying alongside her dance career. She previously presented for Rugby and Daventry Radio and is excited to now be on the local airwaves in her home county.

Angela can often be found adventuring in Rutland and Stamford and attending local events, so if you are a listener or local business do come and say hello!

  • Dean Cornish

Dean was born in Stamford and apart from a few years at University and studying abroad he has been in the area ever since, either in Ketton, Stamford or now living in Uffington.

Educated at Stamford School. Dean now works in publishing during the week and on radio at the weekends. Over the last 20 years he has worked at the former Rutland Radio station and freelanced doing Sports Reports for Talksport, Sky News Radio and BBC Derby.

Dean is married to Sophie and has 2 children, Beatrix and Jos. He enjoys travel (82 Countries and counting!), running (19 marathons and counting!), watching Stamford AFC and England play football and also playing sport himself for Borderville FC Vets and Uffington CC. Dean is also President of Stamford Toastmasters club.

  • Graham Wright

Since Graham began his professional radio career - at the end of 1988 in Leicestershire - he has been heard presenting programmes on numerous independent and BBC stations across the East Midlands (and beyond). During that time, he helped to launch Rutland and Stamford’s original local radio service, where he hosted a daily show for ten years.

Twelve years later, in March 2021, he returned to present a weekly show for the area’s brand new community station…

“My original decade in this lovely area was one of the best times of my life, so it was great to be asked back to help to launch another new radio service specifically for the people of Rutland and Stamford” says Graham. “All rural communities deserve a proper local station and I’m proud and privileged to be one of the people making that happen.”

Graham invites you to join him for a gentle start to your Sunday, with an hour of easier listening music from 7am. There’s also a Sunday Morning Thought from our local church community at 8.15am - along with interviews, information and chat to set you up nicely for the second half of another Rutland and Stamford weekend.

He adds: “It’s wonderful to be working again with former radio friends and colleagues Rob Persani, Dean Cornish, Huw Williams, Tim Rogers and Garry Rose, along with newer members of our dedicated broadcast team.”

  • Huw Williams

I started my journey in radio in 1976 as a volunteer at Hospital Radio Tunbridge Wells as a Sport and Music presenter. Whilst at hospital radio. I got the opportunity to work on BBC Radio Medway on the Saturday night Sport Round Up programme.

In 1982, I moved to Stamford and became the first weekend Sports Editor developing the Saturday afternoon Sports Show on Rutland Radio in 1998 before moving to football reporting.

For seven years, I was the `Live' home DVD match day commentator for Peterborough United.

I had the privilege of commentating for the Bunbury's Celebrity Cricket Team from the mid 90's to 2023, which raised in that time £12.5 million for various charities and beneficiaries.

  • Jon Hollis

Radio has always been something I’ve loved. Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the joy of volunteering at several community and hospital stations, presenting everything from faith and classical music shows to children’s programming—and even calling the shots as the Saturday afternoon sports anchor!

Now based in Oundle with my wife and two young children, life is full of energy, laughter, and the occasional nappy emergency. When I’m not on air, you’ll find me behind the scenes as the sound engineer for the annual Oundle G&S show, or out and about enjoying the best of local life—from independent shops to the stunning countryside of Rutland and Stamford.

Food is a big part of our family life, and I bring that passion to the airwaves with a new recipe each week. I’m also a very amateur (but enthusiastic!) photographer—though these days, the camera often takes a back seat to bikes, bags, and little ones on the move.

Whether I’m spinning tracks, sharing stories, or celebrating our vibrant community, I’m here to bring a little warmth, fun, and flavour to your day.
