A former chairman and retiring groundsman of Blackstones Football Club in Stamford is thanking all those who supported his fundraising match for Addenbrookes Hospital on Sunday.
Kevin Boor underwent liver transplant there and nearly £3,000 was raised for the charity ALTA. Kevin says, as well as players coming together on the pitch from across the years. He's thankful of all the support he received for the day.
‘I am super proud, super emotional. We couldn’t have had a better day for it. The support that I've had both on and off the field from people that have travelled miles and miles to support it, not just to support me but to support Blackstones Football Club as a whole. Friendships have been renewed, weight loss hasn't been discussed at all because there hasn't been any, and the players have done me proud, the supporters and the people that came have done me proud’.
