Small business owners in Rutland should exploit their agility to adapt to markets and our universities and the government are set up to help.
Those are some of the messages that came out of the Rutland Business Summit yesterday at The Barnsdale. Ian Evley, an innovation and growth specialist from Innovate UK is part of the government led support and says business support can be difficult to navigate, but the first step is truly working out what you need.
"The entry points to find it can really be quite complex and quite an opaque environment, but I think it has to start with the entrepreneur. They have to understand what it is that they want, what support do they want, what help do they need, and then reach out to try and find it. Even something as simple as just putting a Google search in for whatever they want will give them some route through to contact."
