The first of the Rutland Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast this month takes place in Oakham this morning,
as Rutland gets ready for Armed Forces Week at the end of this month too. The event is open to anyone with a military connection and their families and takes place at the Grainstore in Oakham today and also on the 28th of June. There will also be a flag raising ceremony on the 23rd and a county service at All Saints and a party at Cutts Close Park in Oakham on the 29th. Thoughts will also be with the county’s D-Day Veterans today as the 81st anniversary of the landings at Normandy has just been marked.
