Benedict's Law kicks in for start of new term

As schools across Rutland and Stamford begin their autumn term, children with allergies from across England will be better protected as Benedict's Law, named after a five-year-old boy from Stamford, will kick in for state-funded schools.

They now have a statutory duty to implement a policy plan, medication and train staff to protect children who need it, with plans needing to be in place by law by the end of this term.
