The rector of Uppingham missed this morning delivering her final service in the town as she gets ready to take up a new position in Manchester.
Canon Rachel Watts will lead the open air remembrance event at the back of the parish church. Canon Rachel says that she'll cherish memories of her eleven years in the town.
'The community, how supportive and warm it is and yeah, just the people really. I've lived here longer than I've lived anywhere in my life. So yeah, it just feels like home. I am very excited by the new post. But yeah, really quite emotional and quite sad about leaving Uppingham’.
