Rutland County Council are staging an event on flooding two weeks today
where it's hoped residents, businesses and community groups can learn more about how it can affect people in the county and how to prepare for future occurrences. The event brings together experts from the Environment Agency, Anglian Water and the emergency services who will offer practical advice, answer questions and share information on how to prepare for and respond to flooding. There will be the chance to step inside the FloodPod, which is a simulation of a real life flood resistant home, as well as to check the risk of your own property. The event called Flood Mary will take place at the Council offices in Oakham between 2:00pm and 6:00pm on the 19th of September
