Communities make final preparations for VE Day

Final preparations are underway for VE Day events locally, including this Thursday.

The proclamation will be read in Uppingham Marketplace at 9:00am, Stamford Town Hall and a short ceremony at Oakham Castle from 10:00am. Evening events on Thursday take place at Tod's Piece in Uppingham, Cutts Close Park in Oakham and on Stamford Recreation Ground. All will culminate in a beacon lighting at 9:30pm. Some villages also have similar evening events.
