North Northamptonshire Council is reminding everyone who keeps poultry or captive birds to register them with the government, however small the number.
From the 1st of October, registration will become compulsory for anyone who keeps their birds outdoors. From pigeons to chickens and birds of prey. Until now, the recording of less than fifty birds has been voluntary. It's hoped the move will further limit the spread of disease. Registration takes place on the gov.uk website https://www.northnorthants.gov.uk/news/keepers-urged-register-their-poultry-or-captive-birds
