Rutland County Council's cabinet is meeting this morning to discuss increased government funding for children in the county with special educational needs, and as a result, a plan to freeze the coming year's council tax increase other than for adult social care.
The new money effectively backdates the dedicated Schools grant to help bridge the extra the county council were paying to cover the shortfall. The final decision on council taxes is expected to be made by the full council at the end of this month. There'll also still be an increase of 15% on the police precept for Rutland and Leicstershire council tax payers.
