Rutland and Stamford's MP has secured a meeting with the Health Secretary's team to raise awareness of maternal blood clots after her own near-death experience following the birth of her third child.
Alicia Kearns praised the swift action of Dr Laura Stevens at Addenbrooke's, whose swift action, said the hospital, saved her life. Blood clots are the leading cause of maternal death in the UK, and the MP wants the condition added to advice for all expectant mothers.
