Poppy sellers are giving the appeal one last push today, with cadets supporting the sale alongside the Royal British Legion on the markets in Oakham and Stamford.
Last year's total for Rutland and Stamford was approaching £100,000.
Rutland organiser, Gwen Andrews, says they really appreciate the help from the younger generation, general volunteers and the serving military too.
"Yet again, we are very lucky to have the Air Cadets and the ACF, and the town looks forward to seeing the cadets, and they support the cadets very well, and they're very, very well thought of. Some of our best supporters are up on Kendrew Barracks as well, the HQ Centre, I think it's a Co-op Spar community shop. We've got a representative, Christine, on the camp who ensures that all the service personnel have an opportunity to get a poppy. I could speak to you all day about the people that support it. It's incredible, and it just gets better and better every year, quite frankly."
Lincolnshire County Council has once again decorated 11 roundabouts in the county with a giant poppy. There are two in Grantham and one in Bourne at the Raymond Mays Way Island.
Tomorrow, open-air services will take place in Stamford at Brown's Hospital and at Uppingham Parish Church in the morning, with a county service and parade in Oakham in the afternoon from 2:00 PM.
