Stamford Civic Society and Stamford Town Council have raised concerns about several buildings and sites
within or next to the town's conservation area which are falling into disrepair. They wrote to the Conservation Officer at South Kesteven District Council to highlight their concerns. They say it's a sensitive problem with no easy solution. They are hoping to proactively engage with the site's owners to encourage repairs before it's too late. The Civic Society is hosting a free public talk focusing on planning decisions and the preservation of Stamford's heritage on the 17th of March at Stamford Town Hall. Stamford claimed the first conservation area in the country back in 1967.
