Consultation on Rutland draft local transport plan

Rutland County Council is inviting residents, businesses, community organisations, and visitors to have their say on the new draft local transport plan.

Moving Rutland Forward sets out the council's long-term vision for transport in Rutland and will help guide how the county's transport network is planned, managed, and invested in through to 2036. The consultation also covers the second implementation plan. It covers walking, wheeling and cycling, public transport, roads, parking, road safety, electric vehicle infrastructure, and access to jobs, education, healthcare, and other essential services.

The updated plan builds on Rutland's existing transport strategy, which was first adopted in 2019. It's been reviewed to reflect changes in national policy, local priorities, funding opportunities and evidence available to support transport planning. There are five key themes: Population Growth, Working in Rutland, Learning in Rutland, Living in Rutland, and Visiting and Enjoying Rutland.

The consultation is now open on Rutland County Council's website and will run until 1 October.
