Older adults and people over 12 who are immunosuppressed can get a COVID vaccination with no appointment this week in Rutland.
The mobile team are at Oakham Enterprise Park daily between 9:30am and 3:00pm and back at Uppingham on Friday and they're taking walk-ins throughout each session. Operated on behalf of the NHS in Leicestershire and Rutland. The latest round of injections is aimed at the over 75s as well as those who are immunosuppressed. Another team are at Rhyall on Monday next week and can take patients from the Stamford area, although the Lincolnshire ICB is asking you to book for Ryhall if possible. Spencer and Helena from the team at Oakham Enterprise Park, say they are flexible in what they can offer and they are easy to spot just near the old vaccination centre.
‘Good signage rules, we always have good leaflets, flags outside. We can also talk about blood pressures and we can talk about other health matters as well. And also just like to add patients and all carers of patients that are concerned about mobility issues. The vans are fully equipped to be able to allow patients that have got mobility issues to come on to the van. Also, we are trained and quite willing to give the patient their vaccines in their cars. You know, if they are little bit worried about getting out of the car’.
