It was a night locally that was bluer than most in the general election with Alicia Kearns managing one of the largest majorities for the Conservatives.

Gareth Davies, meanwhile, retained his seat in Grantham and Bourne with a reduced majority. Down by 10,000 with a 29% swing. Turn out with 63%. John Hayes has kept the Deepings and South Holland seat for the Conservatives with a majority of nearly 7,000. Turn out was 59%. The new Melton and Syston seat stayed Conservative under Edward Argar with Labour again second just over 5,000 behind. Corby and East Northants Tom Pursglove though lost his seat as Labour's Lee Barron won the seat from the Conservatives by over 6,000. North West Cambridgeshire Shailesh Vara lost his Tory seat to one of the youngest Labour MPs Sam Carling
