Lincolnshire Police received a call from a passenger on a high-speed train reporting a possible ill or dead person in a field in the village.
Several officers attended the scene on Monday, including a drone pilot rushed to the field, including a special constable who found the victim was actually a scarecrow who was slumped over. He was then righted and left to get on with his work. Police say the call they received was well meaning and well intentioned, and they gave the scacecrow some bird scaring tips, and left him to get on with his job, after putting him back upright.
