Police in Rutland and Melton have carried out an enhanced evening patrol over the weekend,
checking in at pubs throughout Saturday night and supporting landlords and door staff with any potential incidents. One suspect was arrested after staff told officers an assault just occurred. Thanks to their extra resources police could support the victim and deal with the incident and also provide an emergency response to other incidents in the area. This is part of an initiative on hotspot policing where the forces are targeting areas where they can make the biggest impact whilst addressing local priorities.
