Any Veterans Coffee Morning begins today thanks to funding by the Rutland Lions.
It is taking place in the Tesco Community room on South Street in Oakham on the second Wednesday of every month. It's mainly targeting the older ex-military community, particularly those who are likely to be isolated. Ian Reynolds is one of the organisers, and says keeping in touch with the veteran community Is important.
’Because of the second Wednesday in July there is now a veterans coffee morning. It's not about well-being and welfare. It's about getting together and spending some time with other veterans and Tesco's have been very supportive of what we're doing. So any veterans listening to this please come’.
Staff from home care company Home Straight are also going along to support the event each month.
