25 (10) who was born in Rutland, returned at 8.28 this morning. She was first back in 2023 and mated with 33(11) the regular male at Manton Bay, however when Maya arrived back, she reclaimed her nest!
25(10) is a female born in 2010 in the county who was first seen at 8.28am – it’s not the first year she’s been the first to be seen at Manton Bay. Maya and 33(11) who normally occupy the nest are still to return – last year Maya the female of the famous couple watched by thousands on the webcam, came back on the 12th of March – the earliest she’s ever returned. Although she wasn’t in the best of health last year and only managed to raise one chick, experts are hopeful she will make it back again this season. 25(10) arrived back before Maya back in 2023 as well, only to be dismissed by Maya when she returned to Rutland Water.
