Flood alerts have now been issued for the River Witham and its tributaries
from South Witham to Claypole, South Forty-Foot Drain from Bourne to North Heckington and the East and West Glen rivers from Ropsley to Kates Bridge including Little Bytham, Edenham, Toft, Manthorpe and Braceborough. Uffington Road at Newstead is flooded, particularly for Stamford bound traffic. Trains are not running through Melton, Oakham or Stamford today. Both CrossCountry and East Midlands Railway have cancelled their services. The East Coast main line is still operating through Peterborough.
