Nurses have begun to visit schools across Rutland and Leicestershire to offer more than 160,000 children and young people across the two counties.
A free flu vaccine to help protect them against the virus this winter. Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust School Aged Immunisation service will visit every primary, secondary and special school across the two counties over the next four months. They started last week. Parents and carers of children from reception to year 11 will receive an NHS text message and e-mail asking them to provide their consent. They have a choice of two vaccines, either by nasal spray, which they say is the most effective, or injection if the spray isn't suitable.
