The Government's continuing to favour urban areas over rural in its funding allocations for councils, says Rutland and Stamford MP.
Alicia Kearns says Harborough is the worst hit council in the country for government funding with contributions down 1/4 in real terms per head, Rutland gets a 14% increase, South Kesteven only 2%. Leicester and Peterborough are set to receive over a third more money. The Government also removed the formula that allowed rural councils to receive subsidies for the extra cost of providing services in less populated areas.
