Ahead of this Friday's VJ Day 80th Anniversary commemorations, the Kings Cliffe Airfield Museum is staging its second Summer Open Day today.
As well as the chance to learn about the history of RAF Kings Cliffe other local World War 2 museums and groups have displays as well as re-enactors and living history groups. Models and memorabilia is also on display. There's also a memorial to Glenn Miller where he staged his last hanger concert at Kings Cliffe. The daughter of a Polish paratrooper from Blatherwycke Hall will also be telling the story of the troops based there. The museum, at Rockingham Holiday Park, is open between 10:00am and 4:00pm today.
