The NHS in Rutland and Leicestershire is working with schools and colleges this week to get students talking about their wellbeing in a safe and supported environment.
The theme of Children's Mental Health Week this year is Know Yourself Grow Yourself, which hopes to build resilience and insight in children and young people. Ben Moore is the lead for mental health in schools across Rutland and Leicestershire. He says they're supporting schools with resources for assemblies and workshops in the hope of getting more children talking.
"Well, we know that schools are likely to be one of the first places, outside of a friend, that young people will talk to someone. So the more support we can offer the schools as well, so they're equipped to know what to do and how to support them, is really important. But also that's why things like the campaign like Children's Mental Health Week is there, because then it gets children used to it and used to where they can get support if they're struggling."
