Leicestershire Police have released their June drink and drug driving figures
where nearly 100 arrests were made through the month, around 2/3 with proof of drink and just over 1/4 drug related. Nearly 1/3 of drivers were arrested after a collision and a fifth detained during the day were aged 24 or under. Officers say they'll continue proactive patrols around the clock and say penalties could include a driving ban of a year or more, a hefty fine, an endorsement on your licence for 11 years and difficulty travelling abroad.
