Visitors to Rutland will soon find it easier to explore the county by bike.
A fleet of over 30 e-bikes has been bought by Discover Rutland, who are talking to hotels and other local businesses about taking them on. The Olive Branch at Clipsham already have them in place. Co-owner and Discover Rutland committee member Ben Jones says it will help visitors explore more of the county more easily.
‘We're offering them out to lots of venues around Rutland. They're able to purchase them, but then they've got the opportunity to hire them out to their guests or allow their guests to borrow them. And we're just going to create a network of e-bikes all across Rutland so visitors coming to Rutland can discover all the little parts of Rutland, not just Rutland Water, but all the beautiful villages. Visit the local pubs and have a great time round Rutland, so hopefully it's a great scheme that people are going to get involved in’.
