Leicestershire Police says none for the road should be the message this Christmas
and is reminding drivers of the dangers of being unfit behind the wheel as part of their winter drink and drug drive campaign. So far this month, 40 drink drivers, 21 having taken drugs and seven drivers who failed to provide a sample have been arrested, including 25 drivers detained following a road traffic collision and one motorist who was nearly four times the legal alcohol limit. All those drivers will be appearing before the courts and starting the new year with a conviction. Police across Leicestershire and Rutland say if you're out celebrating over the festive period to book a taxi, use public transport or identify a sober designated driver and think about the morning after when you yourself could still be over the limit.
