There was good weather and Christmas cheer aplenty in Oakham last night as thousands of visitors descended on the town for some late night festive shopping.
Thousands came to the late night shopping in Oakham last night. From stalls at Victoria Hall to the helter skelter and snow machine on Mill Street and live music near the Buttercross, there was plenty to keep shoppers and visitors busy. Oakham Town Centre Manager Carolyn Acton-Reed was delighted with the support that the event received:
“I didn’t know how busy it was going to be, with everything that’s going on” says Carolyn. “The stalls were spread out a little bit more than usual….but thank you so much to everyone for making the effort to come out. Thank you for sticking to the rules, having a good time, making it so Christmassy and helping people feel happy again.”
