Oakham's new youth space is already proving a huge success.
After an opening party yesterday afternoon, the centre is open to drop in with a series of themes throughout the week, between 4.00 and 5.30 every day until Friday. Today is a Lego experience. It'll then be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from next week with a more structured programme.
It's for 11 to 18-year-olds and also young adults with special educational needs and disabilities up to the age of 25. It's housed in the old library bus garage around the corner from the Library and Family Hub in Oakham, and was developed as part of a grant of over £900,000, which also paid for the refurbishment of the four libraries in Rutland through the Living Well Project.
