You're being warned to drive extra carefully through the centre of Stamford today
after a spillage of what's believed to be cooking oil on St John Street by Castle Street. Stamford fire crews spent yesterday afternoon and early evening cleaning up the spill. It's hoped the council road sweeper can pass through today or tomorrow to do another clean of the surface. The affected road is said to be extremely slippery in the meantime.
