A petition has been launched asking Rutland County Council to save the last trees on Brooke Road in Oakham from being felled as work gets underway to widen the road for the new housing development there.
Organisers of the petition are accusing the council of not following the proper procedures in establishing the environmental impact of felling what's claimed to be over 25 trees already.
