Lincolnshire's Police and Crime Commissioner has been in Stamford to meet with the Street Pastors to see how the organisation helps safety and public order at night in the town.
Marc Jones has a survey on his website asking people what they think the police should concentrate most on and also where funding should come from.
‘Absolutely. We've launched this year's annual crime and policing survey and in there we're really looking for people to share their experiences and knowledge around crime and fear of crime in their area to help shape priorities for the following year. But what's really important as well is that key question about council tax. We're all under pressure financially. I want to understand people's views and the bottom line is really simple. The size and scale of change we're going to have to make to Lincolnshire Police Service if we don't increase our income, it's significant. So we really do need to understand people's views because I believe in low taxation, I believe in law and order and I, you know, have to have one or the other of those in this instance. So it's over to the public really to tell us what they think’.
