Police are appealing for witnesses after a scooter rider died during the early hours of Sunday morning on the A6003 at Preston.
The collision occurred just after 12:35 AM. A Black Aprilia Sr GT 1 was the only vehicle involved. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene after being seriously injured. The scooter was travelling from Preston towards Uppingham. Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the scooter being ridden beforehand, witnessed the collision or has any Dash Cam footage. They are particularly keen to speak to the occupants of two vehicles travelling towards the village just before and a man who stopped to provide emergency first aid.
