A Rutland Police officer went the extra mile last night to help a heavily pregnant woman get home after a crash on the A1 near Stamford.
PC McKinnon drove her home to Doncaster to stop her being stranded with no one to collect her. Only minor injuries were reported after a number of accidents in the area yesterday, but the Great North Road did grind to a halt least twice as well as thousands of pounds of damage was sustained to vehicles.
