Rutland has been ranked the second best area in the country to start a business,
beating everywhere apart from Newcastle for survival into five years, with around half making it. The survey for business loan firm Thieves puts the county around 10% better than the average, with around 165 new businesses being established each year in Rutland. Those behind the study say there's something special about Rutland's close knit business community in agriculture and local retail that creates an incredibly supportive environment where businesses truly help each other thrive.
