Rutland County Council is now knocking on doors of households who haven't told them who lives there for voting purposes.
Anyone who's already returned the annual canvass form shouldn't be visited. Canvassers will be able to help residents complete the form at the doorstep using a mobile tablet. But residents are still encouraged to complete the survey themselves by using the instructions in an email or letter they should have received.
By law, councils are required to make repeated visits to households that don't respond to the annual process for elections.
