The military from Rutland were last night supporting the Rutland Festival of Remembrance, organised by the Lord Lieutenancy.
Members of the military working dogs were there to greet the hundreds who attended at Rutland Hall Hotel's pavilion. As well as school and solo performers, Cottesmore Military Wives took part and gave their first performance of the new national Military Wives song, November Sunday, written in honour of the King's birthday. His Majesty also wrote to the choir to thank them for their part in the new single. Four members took part as part of 65 choirs represented. MD of Cottesmore Military Wives choir Corinna Selby shared part of the royal letter with the audience.
‘Having sung in a choir myself when I was at school, I know the joy of performing together can create close knit friendships and support groups and I remain a firm believer that music has a unique power to unite and inspire us all’.
