The Rutland Food Bank says it's store cupboard basics they're most in need of as they expect a rise in donations due to harvest festivals in schools and churches.
They've just recently marked their 13th anniversary and the charity is seeing a rise in clients who they're helping bridge the gap due to the rising cost of living.
Chair of trustees Ali Wainwright explains more about what they're looking for:
"At the moment, we are actually after the very basics. We are helping about 300 households a year, but that disguises some households, generally single adults, where they're having more help than they have had in the past because, unfortunately, their expenses have gone up like most of us and their benefits aren't keeping track.
So the good old-fashioned, who would've thought that a food bank would be running a bit low on baked beans? We normally would say we are fine, but we're a bit low. Loo rolls at the moment, good old UHT milk, and bits and pieces like that. But we publish that on our Facebook post and we share it with a lot of people through email and if you want it, just come online and ask us what we can do with, but yeah, choose something straightforward."
