Rutland Police are expected to visit schools to talk about knife crime over the next fortnight. Operation Sceptre is a national campaign to tackle the problem.
Officers across the Leicestershire force will also be liaising with shops who sell knives to make sure no one under 18 is allowed to buy them. They will also be doing 'sweeps' in parks and other locations where the crime is likely and visiting those previously suspected of being involved in it.
