Fundraising for Cancer Research UK returns to the Rutland Showground today with the Pretty Muddy for both kids and adults.
Inflatable obstacles stretch across the fields, and mud and water is squirted at intervals to keep the competitors cool. Rutland and Stamford Town is hosting both the start and finish lines. Area Events Manager for Cancer Research UK, Natalie Owen, says it's thanks to voluntary help that it's such a success.
"From last year and for anyone that came along to Rutland Pretty Muddy in twenty twenty-five, there's a huge amount that goes into the events. We had over a thousand participants last year. We're looking at, at the moment, around thirteen hundred, so even more coming along to the twenty twenty-six event. We do have twelve obstacles again on course this year with a brand-new one of the Muddy Mayhem obstacle, a brand-new obstacle for twenty twenty-six.
So we do need to have obstacle marshals on each one of those, as well as people that are there to help on the start and finish area, and then to help with our participants as well with any queries. So as you can imagine, a huge amount of help needed on the day."
