Tonight as Rutland County Council meets to agree its budget for the coming year, the action group campaigning to save Ryhall Library will be staging a demonstration outside the offices in Oakham and the Parish Council has submitted an 18 page report exploring ways of keeping their library open.
They claim maintenance and running costs, quoted by the County Council, are inflated and that it's more valued and used by local residents than has been stated. Rutland County Council is currently accommodating new Living Well hubs into the other three libraries in the county. It says Ryhall would cost too much to convert, and is currently running a consultation on how best to deliver library services to East Rutland until tomorrow.
