South Kesteven District Council is using the overnight highways works on the A1 between Stamford and Grantham to clear litter away from the verges.
They already clear litter from the laybys three times a week and new bins are in place to try and reduce people dropping it in the first place. The works continue on weeknights northbound for the next few weeks before work on the southbound carriageway begins. It all takes place between 8pm and 6am.
