Campaigners against the closure of St. Mary's Birth Centre in Melton
say they're devastated but not surprised the facility has finished. Yesterday a meeting of the ICB at the Borough Council offices confirmed services will transfer to Leicester General, although campaigners say it won't be the same type of care that was offered in the town. They also questioned safety concerns when the CQC rated St. Mary's as ‘good’ and the city services as ‘requires improvement’. It is planned that the site in Melton will continue to offer ante natal and post natal community services.
