16 year Flight Sergeant Charlie Lumb is the youngest holder of a Sailplane Pilot Licence and a Flight Radiotelephony Operators Licence in the country, having done his exams for both over the last year, qualifying as a glider pilot this month. He's an active member of 2071 Stamford Air Cadets and has raised money for the RAF Association too.
FS Charlie Lumb was on the Rutland & Stamford Sound Breakfast Show with Rob Persani this morning talking about his love of flying, and what ignited his passion for it. He loves loop-the-loop aerobatics and is happy to fly anything, but has his sites on a Chinook helicopter when he joins the RAF after his A levels.
