Students from Stamford were among hundreds at the graduation ceremony at Peterborough Cathedral yesterday.
The college offers degrees through the Open University and being part of University Centre Peterborough. They are both within the Inspire Education Group. Academic Director at University Centre Stamford and Peterborough Liz Knight, says she's proud of all the graduates.
‘I'm amazed by the sacrifices that students are making now to achieve these degrees. They're either having to work substantially more hours than I had to when I was a graduate. They're being supported by employers, by their families. Their achievements are phenomenal. The results they have achieved in terms of progressing into work on a national level are really outstanding. And all of our students studying particularly in Stamford are very much geared to supporting sort of counselling and health and well-being services, they are supporting around teaching, the animal management, welfare. They make such a valuable contribution and every year I'm humbled’.
